POOL INSTRUCTIONS

SWIMMING POOL START-UP INSTRUCTIONS

Fill your pool into the middle of the skimmer
Start your filter [make sure the first time you start it you prime the pump first]
The filter should run at least 12 hours a day

BALANCE YOUR WATER

Using test strips or a liquid test kit for testing the water
Adjust alkalinity [90ppm-130ppm] first
If low add alkalinity increaser or easy alkalinity
If high add easy acid or muriatic acid to lower it.    Add into one spot in the deep-end of the pool
PH range is 7.2ppm-7.6ppm
Add plus [PH up] or Minus [PH down] according to the label

Add 1 QT Stain and Scale per 20,000 gallons [Metal Gone]
[You might have to add 2 QTS if your water has a lot of iron in the water]

Add 2lbs of stabilizer [conditioner] per 10,000 gallons.
[Stabilizer is difficult to dissolve so you might have to run it thru the skimmer]
 Try our new tablet stabilizer
Stabilizer helps hold in the chlorine.

Let the pool filter circulate for 24 hours

SHOCK your pool next [Use 1 of the 2 below]
CRYSTAL CLEAR MULTI SHOCK per 10,000 gallons
1 Gallon of liquid chlorine per 10,000 gallons

DAILY
To maintain chlorine level at 1ppm-2ppm
 Add granular chlorine everyday
Or use chlorine tablets in a floating dispenser/Skimmer/Feeder
Check your PH and ALKALINITY levels.   Adjust as needed

WEEKLY
Shock your pool
Add a maintence dose of stain and scale [4-6 ozs per 10,000 gallons]
Add a maintence dose of algaecide
Adding algaecide as a maintence is a great preventive for algae

PHOSPHATES

Phosphates come from lawn fertilizers and other chemicals.     If you remove the phosphates you remove the food for algae
If when you shock the pool and the chlorine does not hold check for phosphates
Use Starver for maintenance
